Architecture | Design | Painting | Environmentalism

I’m Mel Poon, and I’m an architectural designer who is interested in the intersection between natural and built environments.

I’m also a painter who enjoys capturing the endlessly awe-inspiring ecosphere we have been gifted with, and yet often take for granted. Perhaps this is coming from a design perspective, but the more I learn about recent scientific findings, the more awed I am by the intricacies and complexities of the highly inter-collaborative and interconnected networks of the planet we live on- and it’s something we’re really only beginning to discover.

And now it seems like now more than ever, that the future of all living beings on this planet depends on humankind’s perception and sensitivities to the ecosphere- and the wisdom embedded within its interdependent kingdom.

We live on an incredible planet abundant with life, at an incredible moment in geologic history where we have an honest chance to capture and conserve all that can still be saved. So it’s my ambition to capture as much beauty and hope on this single cosmic Eden that we share, and hopefully in doing so, capture and re-ignite your imagination as well.

Feel free to have a listen to a Climate Justice Radio’s podcast that I was interviewed for:

In this episode held by Climate Justice Radio, I discuss the role of regeneration in design and the ways in which the built environment and its occupants can operate in symbiosis with the ecophere- ultimately for a vision of not only a sustainable future, but a regenerative one.
